The Pan flute is one of the oldest instruments in the world.
The story of the flute is told as early as in ancient Greek mythology: Once upon a time, there was a lonely shepherd who invented the Pan flute in his solitude. He played it so beautifully that people proclaimed him God; the God Pan.
The Pan flute is made of pipes of bamboo wood. There are 22 pipes fixed in one single slightly curved row. The very same principle of utilizing pipes was later developed for the church organs.
The National Romanian instrument, the Pan flute was originally used in folk music. It may look simple, but is yet a very complete instrument. Difficult to master - the musician needs full control and skill - but technique alone is not everything. Only the very best player can add true feelings to the bamboo and thus make the flute sound as sweet, hot and unique as played by the Queen of the Pan flute - PanDana.
After all; she is a woman and adds the feelings from her heart.
